Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota comes as a surprise to some travelers on their first visit to the area. Many fall in love with it’s rugged beauty, unique wildlife, and monumental history.
Bridgett Weis visited North Dakota for the first time in June. She arrived first in Fargo, then headed west to Medora and Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Here’s what she relayed to us about her experience, “I loved learning about the history of Medora and seeing the park! Can’t wait to get back! Here are some of my favorite pics from the trip!”
The resident bison and the free roaming horses are a great draw to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. See more of them here: Bison and Horses Around Nearly Every Curve!
One of our most exciting encounters with the bison occurred in the North Unit of the park! Check that out here: The Bison Are Coming!! Wake UP!!
Millions and millions! Yes, there really were millions and millions of bison covering the area at one time. Read about that here: The Entire Landscape was Covered with Bison!
Thanks to Bridgett Weis for sharing her photos of this area of North Dakota, a hidden gem!
