We wandered through the Little Missouri State Park this week. An easy way to start getting in shape for hiking season. However, this time gave our imagination a jump-start, too. You never know what might jump out at you. This time, it wasn’t a mountain lion, but what was it?

The Park opens May First. Take a hike and find the monster head leering at you.

In my opinion, that’s art. In ancient times, with drought, came snakes. Many tribes or peoples believed snakes to be a curse that left them thirsty and hungry so if they saw snakes they would chop their heads off! (I would do the same thing regardless of drought in some cases lol) This may be an observation or consensus against popular belief but I don’t care. I like to observe and come to a conclusion that best fits the knowledge and observations I have. It looks man made in observation to me. As if someone at some time was expressing their feelings regarding an enemy. So they carved a snake-ish head! Who knows what creatures they were dealing with! Yikes!
