For Years and Years, Taffy
A mainstay of the Medora, North Dakota business scene for years has been The Taffy Shop and Galley. Few people realize that this candy emporium is open year around, not just during tourist season. And, they ship taffy world wide!
It’sTaffy! I had just opened another bag of luscious candy. Though I had purchased three large bags of taffy on one of my last trips through the quaint, quiet cowboy town of Medora, North Dakota I had not tried all of the ‘colors’. Something this special is meant to be saved, and savored!
So Much To Choose From
I was on a quest for my favorite flavor, Huckleberry. But when I stepped in to the aromatic candy shop last December, a kaleidoscope of candy colors dazzled me! I knew just one flavor would not be enough to satisfy my curiosity. So, I bought them all!
Sugar Free, Too
Huckleberry. It’s my absolute favorite, and The Taffy Shop in Medora has it! But then, I saw Buffaloberry. And Chokecherry. And more and more. Clearly, it would take me awhile to try them all. I was happy to purchase several assortments of flavors in 16 ounce bags. The taffy experts behind the counter suggested I freeze the bags, and sample at my leisure. (advice…the licorice flavor can overpower the other flavors, so don’t include licorice in an assortment to freeze)
There was so much more than taffy at The Taffy Shop and Gallery in Medora! Along with a large selection of gift items, there are chocolates and gift baskets. I stopped with the taffy, but know where I’ll go for birthday gifts this year!
The Medora Taffy Shop (Rushmore Mountain Taffy in Medora) has been around for years! They know how to make candy perfectly, partly because of their experience and partly because of their vintage equipment. Stop to take a look at the taffy pulling machine in the window as you walk by, as well as the 90 year old taffy packaging machine. It’s as entertaining as the taffy is good!
Stop for a visit in person in Medora, or order by mail or online. Rushmore Mountain Taffy is a tradition to carry on. And, “it’s the Best Ever!” according to many reviews!
There’s so much to do year around in Medora! Sample the annual Bluegrass Festival here: Some of the Best Music in the Badlands! BBQ, too!
